The UK’s first Cyber Security Challenge – the hunt for future UK cyber security professionals – will officially open on the 26th July.

The Cyber Security Challenge is a programme of national online games and face-to-face competitions that will test the cyber security abilities of individuals and teams from every walk of life. From 6th form leavers and undergraduates to seasoned security professionals, challenges are being set across the country for everyone with an interest in cyber security to demonstrate their skills. The Challenge is a new initiative to identify the future talent that will power and grow our national pool of cyber security professionals.

The Challenge is being delivered by a combination of leading organisations including education institutions, cyber security employers, and Whitehall departments. They include QinetiQ, Sophos, EADS, Sans Institute, Dtex Systems, the Cabinet Office, Royal Holloway University of London, and the Institution of Information Security Professionals. Together, they are offering a huge range of valuable prizes for successful participants including mentoring programmes, sponsorship for university courses, and valuable memberships to important industry associations. The Challenge represents the greatest opportunity in the country for individuals to see if they have what it takes to be a cyber security professional.

The Challenge will officially open for registration on the 26th July. Those wishing to participate as individuals, enter teams, or simply find out more, should visit www.cybersecuritychallenge.org.uk to find out more.
